JESSOP PAPERS. Vol. IV (ff. i+32). Journal of Proceedings in the House of Commons; Monday 23 Feb.-Monday 1 March and (reversing the volume) Monday 1 March-Saturday 6 March 1623/4. The writer is apparently Sir Nathaniel Rich, for others of whose journals, in the possession of the Duke of Manchester, see W. Notestein, F. H. Relf, H. Simpson, Commons Debates 1621, 1935, i, pp. 88-90, v, 497-534. (Those for 1614 and 1628 were in 1969 on deposit at Huntingdon Record Office [DDM. 58, bundle 5).The journal is in some respects much fuller than that published in Journals of the House of Commons, i, pp. 671-678, including (e.g.) the proceedings of Friday 27 Feb. (ff. 18, 19) and of Tuesday 2 Mar. (ff. 2Ib-15b, versos only). It omits, however, the proceedings of Wednesday 3 Mar. (Journals, i, pp. 676-677) and Thursday 4 Mar.
