MILLES COLLECTION. Vol. Xl (ff. i + 111). Surveys of property in Ireland; 1655 - circa 1661. Viz.:-
(1) Account of quit-rents in the co. of Waterford, giving parish, possessor, description of the property, acreage and rent; circ. 1661. Copy. Followed (f. 15) by a copy of an exchequer order concerning quit rent paid by Sir Algernon May, 1663. ff. 2-15.
(2) Totals extracted from Sir William Petty's Down Survey, giving acreage of lands profitable and unprofitable, commons, church-lands, etc., for certain counties and baronies of the provinces of Munster, Leinster and Ulster; the extracts were made on the order of the Surveyor-General of Ireland, 23 Jan. 1656/7 Copied in Feb. 1671/2 at the instance of Arthur Annesley, Earl of Anglesey, from a MS. lent to him by the Surveyor-General (see f. 24). ff. 16b-24.
(3) The Civil Survey of Ireland, for the Baronies of Ballaghkeen, Bantry and Shelburne, in co. Wexford; 29 Jan. 1654/5. Copy. 17th cent. Published from copies made 1900-1910 preserved in the Quit Rent Office, Dublin, the originals at the Irish Public Record Office having been destroyed in 1922 (see Irish MSS Comm., The Civil Survey 1654-1656, ix, County of Wexford, ed. R. C. Simington, 1953, pp. xiv, 31-78, 165-229). ff. 26-111.
