BANKS COLLECTION. Vol. XVII (ff. 60). Jónsbók: the code of laws promulgated in Iceland by Jón Einarsson in 1280, at the instigation of King Magnús Lagabaetir; 15th cent. The Jónsbók was printed at Hólar in 1578 under the title of Lögbok Islendinga. Vellum. Gatherings, i7 , ii-iii8, iv9, v-vi 8, vii9, viii3. The name 'Jón Finnsson' appears on f. 27 and the name 'Jón Jónsson'on f. 60b. 'No. 40' according to a note on f. 1.
