NOTARIAL INSTRUMENT declaring that on 23 March 1417[/8] Adam de Hebburn, Lord of Halis, produced a letter patent of Margaret Stewart, late Countess of Mar and Angus, dated at the castle of Tempalon [Templeland, co. Aberdeen] on 10 Dec. 1389, ordering Budin de Wal, bailiff of her lordship of Abirnethy [Abernethy, co. Inv.] to give possession of all her lands of Lytylpoty, Petnersy and Petblay to Sir Walter de Clare. This letter was then read in the church of the Friars Minor of Hadigtoun [Haddington, co. Haddington]. Calendared in H.M.C. Portland, II, p. 2. Latin.
