A History and Handbook of Photography, (1878). Gaston Tissandier, Second and Revised Edition, Sampson Low, Marston, Searle, & Rivington, London. The name 'C. H. Talbot' is handwritten on the first page and 'C. H. Talbot, Lacock Abbey' on the title page. National Trust Accession: 27343.
William Henry Fox Talbot's role in the development of photography is covered in Chapters II. and IV. There are additional articles on photography by W. H. F. Talbot in Appendix A presented in three parts. Part I details his early experiments in photography and Part II his development of 'The Calotype Process'. Part III. entitled 'A description of Mr. H. Fox Talbot's process of Photoglyphic Engraving.' is by Charles Henry Talbot. Two printed examples of photoglyphic engraving using Talbot's process can be found on pages 372-373 and 376-377.
