1. Birth and baptismal certificates of the 5th Marquess; 1845. Printed, with manuscript insertions.
2. Letters to Lady Shelburne concerning the education of her sons Lord Henry (Viscount Clanmorris; later the 5th Marquess of Lansdowne) and Lord Edmond Petty-Fitzmaurice at Eton; 1853-1865. Correspondents include Augustus Birch (Eton master) Edward
Balston (Head Master of Eton) and Lewis Campbell (Lord Henry’s private tutor after his removal from Eton). With a copy of Latin verses by Augustus Birch addressed to the 5th Marquess on his return from India, 1894.
3. Letters to Lady Shelburne from William Collings Mathison concerning the education of her son Edmond at Trinity College, Cambridge; 1864-1865.
4. Printed ephemera, including the Eton Boating Calendar for 1860, Lord Henry Petty-Fitzmaurice’s Eton accounts, and his matriculation and examination certificates at Balliol College, Oxford; 1860-1867.
