- 3. Portland to the King, 26 January 1804. Requesting '27 Copies of Mr Yorke's Letters of the 19th and 23rd Circular'.
- 4. Cuffnells, George Rose to [Pitt], 27 January 1804. Advising that the Duke of Cumberland visited him yesterday, and enclosing a related note on the Volunteer system.

- 6. Queen's House, 8 March 1804. A note declaring 'no material alteration in His Majesty since yesterday'. Signed by four physicians: Pepys, Reynolds, Milman, and Heberden.
- 7-7(i). Camelford House, Grenville to Pitt, 9 March 1804. Writing in support of a pension for the scholar Daniel Albert Wyttenbach who wishes to continue his classical scholarship at Oxford.

- 10-10(iii). Melville Castle, Melville to Pitt, 6 April 1804. 'Two days ago upon my return from the North, I had an Interview with Lord Moira. The only very particular incident in the conversation was the explanation I gave him of my knowledge that you had no desire for office for the sake of office....'

- 12. Wycombe, Carrington to Pitt, 7 April 1804. 'I have this morning heard from one of the best private Sources of Information that Russia is arming against France. I should not be surprised if the Troops destined for the Invasion were to take another Direction.' The letter also refers to the Sinking Fund.

- 15-15(i). York Place, Pitt to George III, 21 April 1804. Retained copy, endorsed: 'Transmitted through the Lord Chancellor [Eldon], on Sunday 22nd April, and delivered by Him to the King on Friday 27th'. Pitt announces his intention 'to declare more fully and explicitly than I have done hitherto my opinions on the conduct of Your Majesty's present Ministers'.
- 16-16(iii). York Place, Pitt to the Lord Chancellor [Eldon], 2 May 1804. Retained copy. 'I now proceed to state to Your Lordship on Paper the sentiments which I am desirous of humbly submitting for His Majesty's consideration'.
- 16A-16A(i). Queen's Palace, George III to Pitt, 5 May 1804. Communicated through the Lord Chancellor (not in the King's hand). The King refuses to entertain an administration that includes Fox, and expresses 'his astonishment that Mr Pitt should one moment harbour the thought of bringing such a name before His Royal notice. To prevent the repetition of it, The King declares, if Mr Pitt persists in such an idea, or in proposing to consult Lord Grenville, His Majesty will have to deplore that he cannot avail Himself of the ability of Mr Pitt.'

- 22. Cavendish Square, Middleton to 'My dear Lord', 15 May 1804. The letter presents Middleton's grandson: 'My Friend Wilberforce will introduce my grandson to Mr. Pitt'. The letter also originally enclosed letter 22(i), from Sir Thomas Frankland, requesting it is shown to Pitt.
- 22(i). Sir Thomas Frankland, for the attention of Pitt, 12 May 1804. The letter refers to the Supplementary Militia, to 'raising men by Ballot', and to the 'difficulties which Country Gentlemen labour under when enforcing the militia's laws'.
- 23. South Audley St., Charles Philippe [Charles X, Comte d'Artois] to Pitt, 15 May 1804. Letter in French.
- 24. Camelford House, G[renville] to Pitt, 16 May 1804. 'I send you at last the letters which you saw in manuscript last summer. Mr Payne has taken near five months to print about a hundred pages....'
