- 4. Crosby Square, Robert Wigram Junior to Adams, 7 January 1806. 'Sir Robert is very sanguine of my success at the Bank in April, which adds to my wish to take my seat in the House at the opening of the session, when I shall have leisure for a constant attendance.'

'The Order to be Observed In the Publick Funeral Procession of the Late Right Honourable William Pitt, from the Painted Chamber, through Westminster Hall, New Palace Yard, Union Street, the Broad Sanctuary, and, by the West Door, into Westminster Abbey, on Saturday the 22nd Day of February 1806'. Lightly sewn in original blue covers.

- 44. Shrubs Hill, Lady Chatham to Pitt. Dated 'Thursday'. Seeking a position for a servant of her father.
- 45. Eldon to Pitt. No date. Passing to Pitt the name of one William Wood, in respect of building and repairing lighters on the Thames.
- 46. Without signature or date, possibly a fragment. From a female admirer: 'If some happy woman has not engaged the whole of your heart, it's not impossible you may wish to see the strange creature who has written you this.' Any reply is to be directed to Miss James ('that name will do as well as any other') at the Post Office in Margate.
- 47. Addressed to Pitt, without signature or date. Provides commentary and references to various authors: Ovid (Cadmus), Spenser's Faerie Queen, Livy.
- 48. Lady Melville to Pitt, 'Friday morning'. Dinner invitation. 'We shall be happy to see Capt. Stanhope'.
- 49. Lady Melville to Pitt, 'Thursday morning'. 'Will you do me the favor to accept of a little picture which I hope will remind you of me'.
- 50. 26 Old Nickel Street, Batnelgreen [Old Nicol Street, Bethnal Green], J [?Multhot] to [?Pitt]. No date.
- 51. Retained draft? No date, no addressee. Refers to not having seen Lord Hawkesbury, who is now out of town, and therefore it is difficult to know 'what to say upon a subject of so much delicacy'.
- 52. Lieut. Col. Robert Wilson to [Pitt], 'Saturday morning'. Refers to letters having come into his possession 'for sale or publication' but wishes to defer this 'until their importance to the British Govt. should be ascertained'. Refers to their French provenance, and to seeing Count Hahrenberg. Originally enclosing 52(i-ii) and 52(iii).

- 52(iii). Draft document, in French. 25 January 1774.
- 53. Calculations (military?): 'If the Front of a wheeling Company consist of 8 Files....' No date, but paper watermarked.
- 54. York House, Prince Frederick to [Pitt], 'Saturday'. Refers somewhat mysteriously to a Gentleman whom he is 'almost positive' he saw go into 38 Albemarle Street.
- 55. A letter fragment discussing theology (Genesis, the Serpent, Temptation). Without date, addressee not indicated.
- 56. Strongly worded letter without date, signature obscure. To Pitt? Colourful vernacular language, beginning: 'you infernal Blackguardly Son of a Thief....' Refers to the Corn Bill.
- 57. Draft letter, from [?Adams] to [?Prince of Wales]. Paper watermarked 1797. Refers to the 'urgent necessity' of £10,000 required in respect of Mr. Rose.
- 57(i). William Dacres Adams, Memorandum on William Pitt. Without date, but written after Pitt's death.
- 57(ii). On the centenary of Pitt's death, The Times printed the above Memorandum by William Dacres Adams, sent to the editor by G. F. Adams. Newspaper cutting (1906).
