Memoir of Thereza Story-Maskelyne, (1923). 84 pages. Bound manuscript illustrated with watercolours, sketches, photographs and prints dated between 1857 and 1902. Some watercolours are loose within the volume. Text concerns memories of the area around the Dillwyn Lewellyn family home ‘Penllergare’ including information on the amateur archaeological exploration of ‘Mgngd Cairn Goch’ in 1858. On page 17 there is a letter ‘from Lady Higgins’ as well as a ‘true lovers knot’ or ‘St. Bridgets knot’ made from reeds. There are also biographies of Thereza’s parents and grandparents as well as further details of the history of the Talbot and Dillwyn Lewellyn families. Finally there are notes on ‘seaside places’ Thereza visited either with her family or her husband, Nevil Story-Maskelyne which includes observations on people, places and local customs.
