Arabic translation of the Introductio Arithmetica (Ἀριθμητικὴ εἰσαγωγή, المدخل إلى علم العدد المسمى بالأرثماطيقي) by the neo-Pythagorean philosopher and mathematician Nicomachus of Gerasa (Νικόμαχος ὁ Γερασινός, نيقوماخس الجراسيني; d. ca 120). The translation is attributed to Thābit ibn Qurrah (ثابت ابن قرة; d. 901).
The full title is given as (f. 122, lines 2-5):
كتاب المدخل إلى علم العدد
الذي وضعه نيقوماخس الجراسيني
من شيعة فيثاغنورس
ترجمة ثابت ابن قرة
The text is divided into two books, and contains seven diagrams:
Book One (المقالة الأولى; ff. 122r-141v);
Book Two (المقالة الثانية; ff. 141r-164r).

إن القدماء الأولين الذين سلكوا سبيل علم الحق اليقين ابتدوا من لدن فيثاغورس
أن يحدوا الفلسفة بأنها أيثار الحكمة وذلك على ما يوافق ما يدل عليه اسم
الفلسفة في اللغة اليونانية ...
