Astrological treatise on Arab hegemony and its duration by the philosopher Ya‘qūb ibn Isḥāq al-Kindī (يعقوب بن إسحق الكندي; d. ca 873).
The colophon (f. 178r, lines 3-4, transcribed below) states that the text was copied from an exemplar dated mid-Rabī‘ I 531/December 1136.
Appended to the text are philosophical definitions that the scribe claims to have found in his exemplar (f. 178r-178v). There are followed (f. 178v) by a few lines containing a summarised note on the creation of the world (دليل موجز على حدث العالم) attributed to Abū al-Ḥasan ‘Alī Ibn Riḍwān (أبو الحسن علي ابن رضوان; d. ca 1061).

أعانك الله على قبول الحكمة والهمك استشعار الفلسفة وسهل لك سبيلها وسلس
لك طرقها ولا أراك مكروهًا برحمته سألت أكرمك الله أن إذ كذلك
الكلام الذي سمعتني أخبر به من كتاب الله عز وجل في علم كمية ملك العرب ...
Ends (f. 177v, line 26-178r, line 1):
... وبالعقرب بين العرب بعضهم لبعض وبالقوس بين الترك وبالجدي
بين الجيشة والزنج والهند وبالدلو بين السواد والكوفة والجبال وبالحوت
بين المصريين وبين الحزر والنجاد والعرب
