The notebook (which is supplemented by a considerable amount of material loosely inserted) contains a number of poems in draft, including:
- 'Portraits From My Life' (August 1976), including two related 'postcard' reproductions of paintings interleaved: Balthus, 'Figure in Front of a Mantel'; Ingres, 'Portrait of the Princesse de Broglie'.
- 'Sea Journals' (begun 25 April 1977).
- 'Machines'.
- 'Text for an Engraving'.
- 'Plato, Dante & Co give up', begun 29 September [1977].
- 'Afterthought to a poem by Jack Spicer, in memory of Bill Butler'.
- 'Cosy' (29 September 1977).
- Material (1977-78) relating to Harwood and Lopez, Wish You Were Here (1979), including some original postcards (interleaved) and related publication correspondence.
- 'To Be Read Very Slowly' (10 May 1978).
- Draft material entitled 'You Essai. You O.K. / : a collaboration / Postcards chosen by Robert Vas Dias with texts written by Lee Harwood' (June 1978 - February 1979).
- Loosely inserted, letters from Vas Dias (5 June, 20 June, 30 June, 5 September, 11 December 1978, and 20 April 1979), and a sequence of six poems by Vas Dias ('Both Sides of the Margin').
- Draft material relating to Wine Tales: Un Roman Devin (1984), including draft texts and two letters (20 February and 18 June 1979) from Richard Caddel to Harwood.
- Written at the back of the notebook (turning it around), ['The Beginning of the Story'], dated 31 October 1978 - 29 June 1979. With a draft typescript.
