Notebook completed during the period that Harwood lived with the writer Bobbie Louise Hawkins in Bolinas, California. Dated entries record road trips made together, particularly landscape observations. The notebook begins with a trip to Vancouver (11 July 1983). Later notes record a trip to Albuqueque (April 1984), and San Diego (May 1984). Postcards and other momentos of the trips are loosely inserted.
