With accompanying letterpress description: The second reversing station is soon reached at Changai, whose station building was visible on the sky line from below. Starting again from Changai, the railway runs in a wide loop round the head of a valley through a series of tunnels, climbing steadily all the time and meets the roads again close under Fort Maude. All round this loop fine views of the Pass and of the plains towards Peshawar are obtained. After passing Fort Maude the line traverses another long loop which brings it to Shahgai Station. By this time over 1,000 feet has been climbed from Jamrud and the air blows fresh and keen. To the left from Shahgai there are fine views of the mountains of Tirah. After leaving Shahgai the hills begin to close in on both sides as the Ali Masjid gorge is approached. The Railway works are now very heavy and deep cuttings, high embankments and tunnels succeed each other. The second tunnel after leaving Shahgai passes under a ridge on which are huts of a military camp and on emerging from this tunnel a brief view is obtained of Ali Masjid, the green shrine in the valley below and the fort on the hill above
