With accompanying letterpress description: The main fort and camp lie on the further side of Ghatzai ridge which stands immediately above the station. Immediately on leaving Landi Kotal station the line falls at the maximum descending gradient of 1 in 25. The caravan serai is passed on the right hand side and then the train enters a series of tunnels, the intervals between which only permit of brief glimpses of the wild scenery at this remote end of the Khyber Pass. Slightly more open views are obtained of the Tora Tigga valley on approaching Tora Tigga reversing station. After this station a short run through deep cuttings and through a tunnel brings the train to Landi Khana station, 2,600 feet above sea level and 900 feet below Landi Kotal. The Afghan Frontier is 2 miles away and the distant ranges lie in Afghanistan. The railway formation is complete up to the Frontier, but the train goes at present no further than Landi Khana
