Half-leather and blue cloth album, measuring 433 x 237 mm, with paper label reading 'J. L. I. Reid 1907-12'. Binding in reasonably firm condition. Prints are mounted on page with captions either in the negative or handwritten beneath the image. The verso of the front free endpaper is signed in ink 'J. L. I. Reid 1st 10th Gurkha Rifles', and beneath this in pencil 'A. C. Macnabb 1936'. There is also a note in Reid's hand listing the contents of the album beneath the date range '(Decr.) 1907 - 1912 (February)'. Although evidently acquired by Reid between 1907-12, the majority of the photographs were taken a good deal earlier, many dating back to the 1890s and some probably taken in the 1880s.
