La construction de cet édifice est beaucoup plus soigné que celle des autres mosques, et, dans l’intérieur de la ville, c’est la seule où la décoration extérieure soit le résultat de la taille des matériaux, sans adjonction de peinture; ses assises régulières, sa corniche très important, sont de Pierre. Érigé en l’an 1347 après J.-C., cet édifice est remarquable, non-seulement par les soins qui ont présidé à sa construction et à sa décoration, mais encore par ses dimensions considérables. Sa plus grande longeur est de 150 mètres, et la hauteur de son grand minaret d’environ 80. Sur la droite, la planche No.2 représente dans le fond la porte d’entrée principale de cette mosquée.'
