Louksor (Thèbes). Construction antérieure — Pylône, colosses et obélisque [Foremost structures, the pylon, colossi and obelisk, Luxor]. Photographer: Teynard, Félix
- Scope & Content:
-
Genre: Archaeological Photography
View from the north of the pylon of Rameses II, with the two half-buried colossi flanking the gateway of the Temple of Amun-Kamutef and remaining obelisk of the pair, on the left. The second obelisk was given to the French by Muhammad Ali in 1819 and now stands in the Place de la Concorde in Paris.
