'Oval bas-relief. Blue jasper, white relief. Length, 5 inches; height, 3¾...It is one of four 'Groups of Boys' modelled for Wedgwood by Mrs Landre in January, 1769. The price paid for the four models was £1 1s. These groups were at first modelled in an ordinary biscuit body. The piece is interesting as showing the state and style of female art-work in the middle of the eighteenth century. Mrs Landre was considered one of the best modellers of the time.'
