View looking towards the Osirid pillars of the second court of the Ramesseum, the mortuary temple of Rameses II at Thebes: 'This view of the Rameseum of El-Kurneh is taken from a direction opposite to that of the previous one [print 4]: the spectator stands without the second court, and instead of looking eastwards as before, he looks westwards, towards the mountain. In the foreground, to the left, are three of the columns yet standing of the double range on the right side of the court; they are of grand size, and, like all the parts of this temple, of beautiful proportions. Further are seen the four remaining Osiride pillars of the range at the back of the court, and three columns of the range behind them: these are to the right of the entrance of the hypostyle hall...'
