Full-length standing portrait of the botanist and palaeontologist Hugh Falconer (1808-1865), Bengal Medical Service from 1830 and Superinrtendent of the Botanical Gardens at Saharanpur 1832. He oversaw the production of the first Indian tea in 1834 and was Professor of Botany at Calcutta Medical College 1848-55. [Photograph published March 1865.]
