This item is part of a larger drawing that was divided into three sections. Add Or 4132 (on left), Add Or 4131 (centre), Add Or 4130 (right). These three sections as well as Add Or 4129 and Add Or 4128 are all from the Visvantara Jataka on the central section of the left hallway which has entrances to the monks' cells.
Together, these three parts depict scenes from the Visvantara Jataka in Cave 17, Ajanta. In this scene, Visvantara, a prince who is generous to excess, gives away his elephants to the begging Brahmins of an enemy. 136.5 by 136 cm.
