A half-length portrait facing left. Wellesley wears a military uniform with the blue ribbon and Star of the Order of St. Patrick.

This portrait is similar to one presented by Brigadier Home, 1834, to the Asiatic Society of Bengal, Calcutta. Other portraits of Wellesley by Home are in the National Portrait Gallery, Apsley House and the Oriental Club, London, as well as in Raj Bhavan, Calcutta, and Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. This portrait hung traditionally in the Council Chamber of the India Office.
