Barrackpore House from upriver, the view dominated by the flagtower, the semaphore tower and the circular pavilion, with, in the distance, Lord Minto’s Memorial Hall and Barrackpore House.
The view shows the enlargements to Barrackpore House undertaken by Lord Moira in 1814-5, but not the railings and ornamental gateway in front of the memorial Hall seen in James Baillie Fraser’s views of Calcutta published 1824-6, but based on Fraser’s sketches of 1819-20.
