By a Patna artist, c.1810.
Water-colour and body-colour, wihtin a black border; paper watermarked ‘Budgen & Wilmott 1809;’ 242 by 397 mm.
Note: Macnabb was in India 1804-31, and spent most of his his career in Bengal and Bihar. He was Assistant to the Collector in Patna, Archibald Cockburn, from 1808-12, where he may have acquired this and the next, although of course they could have come from his D’Oyly relatives at Patna - his wife Jean Mary née Campbell was cousin to the second Lady D’Oyly, as well as to the Marchioness of Hastings.
