Jean Mary Macnab's Scrapbook of D'Oyly’s Lithographs
Collection of 251 lithographs, mostly the production of the Behar Lithographic Press in Patna set up by Sir Charles D'Oyly, with a small number from the Asiatic Lithographic Press of Thomas Black in Calcutta. They were assembled in a folio album, watermarked HEIC 1825 throughout, by James Munro Macnab and his wife Jean Mary, née Campbell, who was cousin to Eliza Jane D'Oyly. Macnab served in the Company's Bengal Civil Serive from 1804-16 and 1819-31, mostly in posts in Bengal and Bihar. The dates of drawing are between August 1828 amd May 1831, i.e. mostly later than the volumes published as the ‘‘Behar Amateur Lithographic Scrapbooks.’’
