Album (ff.1-58) of views and animal studies in pen and ink and pencil with a number of prints. The latter include early experiments with lithography, two on paper watermarked 1820 and one 1822. D’Oyly did not set up his own Behar Amateur Lithographic Press in Patna until 1828; T. Black’s Asiatic Lithographic Press in Calcutta is recorded only from 1825. Seven of the drawings are by the Patna artist Jai Ram Das. The album originally belonged to members of the Macnabb family and some of the engravings may have been added by them.
