The envelope contains: handwritten letter from Oakeley to Balfour (4 pages, incomplete) and three typed copies of it (12 pages, incomplete); one page of handwritten notes regarding Haldane’s view of military reform, possibly part of the above letter; two pages of quotations (the ‘Standard' articles were not found in the envelope at the time of cataloguing).
