Contains docketed sets of papers numbered 1 to 50, originally in one bundle labelled ‘No. 1. Military Secretary’s Correspondence. Nos. 1 to 100’. Consists of an original letter, or a copy of a letter or memorandum sent to the Military Secretary, with any other papers such as enclosures and copies of replies.

Letters in this file date primarily from 1859.
