119. Bundle of papers relating to the disbandment of the 19th Native Infantry, mar-Apr 1857. 1. Two office memoranda. 2. Draft note to M. Townsend, Serampore, sending a copy of the General Order directing the disbandment of the 19th Regiment which is about to take place. 3. Copy of note of 1 Apr 1857 sending a memorandum of events of 31 Mar to Townsend. Also note by Governor General and draft memorandum. 4. Report on the events at Barrackpore when the 19th Native Infantry was disbanded. With plan. Endorsed. See also Private Secretary's Letters Received item 1772. 5. 125. Two letters from Brigadier C. Grant to Brigadier Hearsey, 18 Mar 1857. One gives the arrangements for the disbanding of the old 34th Native Infantry. The other lists the quantity of ammunition at Barrackpore, with a list enclosed of the ammunition of the 70th Native Infantry.
