Correspondence on Galway and Irish affairs includes:
Letter from Lord Bessborough, Dublin Castle, regarding Attorney General James Monahan standing for Galway (1846); letter from Anthony O'Flaherty regarding standing as a candidate to represent Galway in Parliament (1847); letter from Redington, Dublin, regarding the County Galway election (1847); correspondence with Henry Clements, Thomas O' Flahertie and D.H. Kelly regarding cutting a hill in Galway (1847); letters from James Martin, Mr Tufnell and Colonel Davis regarding the Galway election (1847); letter from D.H. Kelly enclosing information about the formation of a registration committee in Galway (1847); letter from Lord Derby wishing to clarify a question Clanricarde has asked him on educational funds in Ireland (1851); letters from F.B. Piggot and Mr Lawrence (on behalf of his son Captain Lawrence) asking for appointments in the Galway Militia following death of Captain Eyre (1852); letter from Ridley [?] on the Galway election (1852); letter from Lord Anglesey enclosing a letter on the state of the north of Ireland, from a correspondent in Monaghan (1852); letter from John William Browne regarding Clanricarde's recommendation of him for Commission of the Peace for Galway (1852); letter from Charles Augustus Bagot, Dublin, giving advice and recommendations regarding magistrates in Galway, and copy reply thanking Bagot, but stating that recommendations for Magistracy cannot be guided by considerations of electioneering interest (1852); copy letter to Lord Clarendon regarding the magistracy in Connemara, and concern that it is almost exclusively Protestant (1852); and copy letter to Sir Percy Nugent regarding the Galway railroad.
