The Clanricarde Papers contain the following:
Papers of the 14th Earl and 1st Marquis of Clanricarde (3rd creation), Ulick John de Burgh (1802-1874), dating from 1800-1875, consisting of the following series: miscellaneous personal and political correspondence, 1800-1875; records as British Ambassador to St Petersburg, Russia, 1838-1841; records as Postmaster General, 1846-1852; papers, mostly correspondence, relating to foreign affairs, July 1854 to April 1861; printed copies of British Government Cabinet papers, 1816-1859; papers concerning Irish affairs, relating largely to the administration of Galway; and papers relating to Clanricarde’s involvement in the Handcock versus Delacour case.
A series of papers of, or relating to, Ulick Canning de Burgh (1827-1867), known throughout his life as Lord Dunkellin, first son of Ulick John de Burgh, dating from 1846-1867.
A series of records of the management of the Clanricarde estate in County Galway, Ireland, of the 15th Earl and 2nd Marquis of Clanricarde, Hubert George de Burgh Canning (1832-1916), the younger son of Ulick John de Burgh, dating from 1866-1907.
