Mostly consists of correspondence of the 1^st Marquess of Clanricarde, Ulick John de Burgh, including:

Letters of 1862 from Lord de Tabley and J W Kaye regarding papers to be entrusted to Kaye and conditions of publication, and a further draft letter of 5 November 1864 from Clanricarde questioning the use of private letters in Kaye's 'History of the Indian Mutiny' and publishing without inspection;

Letters from Henry Brougham;

A few letters on Irish affairs, including a letter from J Blake of March 1859, enclosing a letter from J Orrell Lever to the Galway newspapers against liberal members;

And letters from Arthur Hervey in 1864, writing of the death of Lord Bristol.

Also includes a letter from the late Earl Clanricarde of November 1806, to an unnamed recipient, on a variety of mainly Irish matters, and writing 'we have a stout little fellow here that I am very anxious to introduce to you' [a reference to the 1st Marquess of Clanricarde, Ulick John de Burgh, born in 1802].
