Mostly consists of letters to the first Marquis of Clanricarde from various individuals, relating to the Handcock versus Delacour case in the Irish Chancery Court. Includes: a large number of unsolicited letters of 1855 relating to offers to give evidence, including an offer to give evidence in support of Clanricarde in return for money, and a threat to give evidence against, when the initial offer is refused; some copy statements; and letters regarding the doctors used by the Handcocks in Paris. Also includes correspondence with journalists: correspondence of 1856 with Richard B Riordan who writes speculatively offering his services to mount a campaign to redress the balance of press and public opinion; private letter from journalist F Sims of Daily News requesting financial help; and letters of 1858 anticipating a statement from Clanricarde in the House of Lords.
