Observes that it is evident what the Rajah will be led to believe as to the destination of the money, and that until the question of the future Government of Mysore is settled, the Rajah will be plundered on all sides, and the good name of the Government will suffer. Alludes to the case of Mr Butt, the MP and the Nawab of Surat, and says that he knows of one occasion when 50,000 Rupees were taken from the Rajah of Tanjore under the pretence that it was given to Lord Elphinstone. The course of the Tal river is not shown on any map. The coal referred to by the Private Secretary is not in the Tal, but in the bed of the Godavery; it is no better than the coal found in the Chindwarah district.
