Bundle of letters relating to the Committee for the relief of Refugees [Indian Mutiny Relief Fund] and the Ladies’ Committee, including sending boxes of women's and children's clothes from England, clothing lists and the distribution of clothes and linens to hospitals and individuals, and details of donations. Including receipts. Also offers to adopt orphaned children.

Includes letter from Katherine Ashburner of the Relief Fund in Calcutta, 5 May 1858, recounting the case of Mrs Patrick Orr, her daughter and Miss Jackson, the last remaining prisoners found alive at Lucknow after nine months under siege. Letter from Teresa Monteath has news of women housed at Harington Street. Also letter and copy reply from Miss Burn, Dundee, regarding Mr Christie, his death and fund in his memory. Also printed list of those killed in the Cawnpore Massacre, containing published extract of letter by J.W. Sherer, 1 Aug 1857, with covering letter from Cecil Beadon.
