- Register volume recording letters received by Canning from various individuals, and copies of letters sent by Canning to various individuals, dated 25 March to 19 November [the year is not recorded, but the letters appear to date from the period of Canning’s first term in office as Foreign Secretary, from 25 March 1807 to 11 October 1809]. The letters relate to various subjects, but a large proportion of the letters are letters to Canning from individuals soliciting appointments to positions for themselves, or recommending others for appointments, and Canning’s replies to their letters. In English and French.
