‘Most Secret Minutes of Cabinet’ (21 April, 1807 – 24 February, 1809). Cabinet minutes and circulars written on the whole by George Canning with some additional comments by Earl of Camden, Lord Bathurst and Lord Eldon. Includes:
1. Letter from Prince Castelicala, Sicilian envoy complaining about the publication of a book critical of the Sicilian government along with a letter from ‘V. Gibbs’ and ‘Tho[s] Plumer’ advising against prosecution of either the author or printer of the book.
2. Minutes (28 January, 1809) relating to ‘Sir John Moore conduct’ and the proposed publication of a letter.
3. Minutes (24 February, 1809) concerns Spanish refusal to allow Britain to use Cadiz as a base in the Peninsular War and proposals for the war’s continuation.
