This book was read during ritual ceremonies. The volume includes two different chapters written down by two different scribes. The first chapter consists of the “Madad Vāj Yašt-i Gāhanbār”. The language is Avestan with some Persian notes for readers. The script is Persian. The second chapter is a set of admonitions concerning the Gāhanbārs, i.e. the six high feasts which the Zoroastrians celebrate annually to venerate and honour God's creation. The language is Persian with a few Avestan phrases. There are also notes regarding the important days in the Zoroastrian calendar and the good deeds which a person should do on those days. Moreover, the way a believer is asked to live to reach happiness is described.There is no decorative design.
According to the colophon and the information collected from the owner, the manuscript was scribed in Kerman. It was first owned by a person called Jamshid Khodabakhsh, who was the maternal great grandfather of the current owner, Pedram Soroushpoor. After leaving Kerman, the manuscript was brought to Tehran by the family.
