- There are three texts in the genre of Pāñcālī: Maṅgalacaṇḍīpāñcālī; Satyanārāyaṇapāñcālī, Sanirapāñcālī. These texts are used to promote the veneration and devotion to a deity or, in the case of regional Islam, a saint or holy man. Typically such texts are also employed for personal benefits and avoiding dangers through the recitation of the text. This group of texts each focuses on a Hindu deity: the goddess Caṇḍī the god Nārāyaṇa, and the planet Śani (Saturn). 9 Kārtika, [12]74 Sana (24 October, 1867 A.D.) (f. 15r); Bengali date of 1274 is also written in a coded form (f. 30r). . Machine made paper; poor condition, unbound. 14 x 22 cm; 44 folios with cotton wrapping and supplementary notes.
