Work-book 71: Dated 23 January 2001 onwards, no end date. This work-book was used concurrently with work-book 70. Sketches, notes and draft score for Act I of 'Hamlet'. Also contains noted ideas for opera subjects (f.5v); a rejected idea for a setting of Oscar Wilde's 'The Importance of Being Earnest' (f.7); a diary entry for 28 January 2001 (f.61); and pasted photograph and map of the house in Scansano, Italy, where Swayne was staying (inside back board).
