William Parker’s ledger for timber, carpentry, joinery, and jobbing, 1783-1793, at Hamels (Hertfordshire) and Wimpole (Cambridgeshire).
Ledger contents:
Accounts for building supplies delivered to Gatesbury Mill (undated), Mently (2 March 1784), and unspecified (undated).
Account for felling, carpentry work at Hamells, 1783-1784. Headed ‘Wm Parker come to Hamills Oct 20 1783’.
‘An acct. of Work done in and for the gardens’. Nov 1783 – Jan 1785. Includes building ‘the New hott house’, work on peach house, pine house, haha fencing, ‘trillis’, and cucumber frames.
‘Acct. of work to the house, park &c.’. Jan. 1785-July 1785 (including jobbing and repairs to house and outbuildings, furniture construction and repair, hewing and sawing timber, fencing.
‘Account of takeing down the Old Buildings at Hull &c and to work the New Cottages’. Oct 1784-Nov 1784
‘Work done in the Gardens &c.’ Jan-July 1785 (including work on cucumber frames, building a necessary house, trellis in peach house)
