Attributed by Andrew David to Alexander Buchan, on grounds of similarity to other views drawn by him (e.g. British Library Add MS 15507, folios 8a, 9a, and 9b).
The engraving by T. Bowen and J. Gibson (published in John Hawkesworth, An account of the voyages undertaken by the order of His Present Majesty for making discoveries in the Southern Hemisphere (1773) II, facing page 39) is based on this chart.
