• Correspondence from various individuals approached by Penelope Fitzgerald or other members of the lecture committee, to speak at the HLSI. Includes responses from Humphrey Carpenter, Joanna Trollope, Tim Hilton, Jane Gardam, Andrew Motion, Carol Michaelson (British Museum), Candida Lycett Green, Penelope Lively, Patrick Parrinder (University of Reading), Richard Ormand (National Maritime Museum), and Beryl Bainbridge. Undated letters are at the back.
• Meeting agendas and minutes (mostly of the Lecture Committee); and lecture plans (drafts, outlines and schedules, in a mixture of autograph and annotated typescript forms) from 1993-1998.
• Printed events programmes and a few sheets of HLSI headed paper.
• Fitzgerald’s heavily annotated folder which housed these papers originally.
