Daily diary kept in 1849 by Mary Elizabeth Baines, née Raban (1802-1864), whilst living at Hatch Beauchamp, Somerset.
The diary records visits by various friends and family especially her aunt Ella Raban (nee Colton) and cousin Jessie Raban; outings including shopping trips and visits to see friends, attendances at church, and a holiday in August to Bath.
Folios 28 and 29 contain notes titled 'A German Phrophecy' and 'Frugality & Liberality'.
