Constance Maud Raban 1918
- Scope & Content:
-
Lett's Diary & Almanac for 1918 kept by (Constance) Maud Raban (1877-1952), youngest daughter of Sir Edward Raban and his wife Edith Welman.
The diary contains brief entries for each day detailing where she went, who she visited and who came to visit her. For wartime 1918 she worked most days at Lansdowne House in Mayfair, which served as a First Aid Station.
Also recorded are her father's travels for his work, air raids, and her thoughts on the church services she attended each week.
At the back of the diary under the headings cash account and memoranda are notes including addresses of friends, lists of names to ask for flowers and to send notes of sales and some petty cash accounts. At the back of the volume is some loose blotting paper.
