The manuscript is a copy of the Arabic original, written by the Moroccan Sufi leader, Muhammad Sulaiman al-Jazulī (death date 1495). It is a collection of prayers for Prophet Muhammad, which is very popular in Muslim communities of Senegambia. It was copied in 1959 by El Hadji Kemo Drame, the owner. It include colorful designs and drawings.
Custodial history: The current owner copied the document in 1959 during his research.
Extent and format of original material: 123 pages.
Physical characteristics: Unbound manuscript. There are some signs of water damage on the covers and some ink stains.
