- Autograph journal, 15 Oct - 2 Nov 1977. A gathering of 19 numbered pages taken from a notebook (145 x 210 mm). Entries in blue ink. Plain paper wraparound cover: title in pencil written on the front cover (not in Brearley's hand), with two phoptocopied sketches adhered to inside front and back, one of Brearley in his hospital bed (the original ink sketch, by Mara Loytved-Hardegg, is in Add MS 89422/4/8). The neat and uniform hand of Brearley's entries suggests that the journal was copied out after he left the hospital from original notes that are now lost.
