The manuscript is composed of a text in two parts written in verses. The first leaf is an invokation to the god Catakam. The manuscript is in good condition; the leaf 46 is damaged. Text 1: the text, entitled Vaittiya Catakam, contains palm leaves numbered from 1 to 6 on which 12 verses are written; it is incomplete. It deals with siddha concepts of physiology. It explains the five primordial elements (pañcapūtam) that composed everything in the universe, the growth of the embryo, the five sense organs (aim poṟikaḷ) and their functions, the motor organs (kaṉmēṇṭiriyam), the inner psychic function (antakaraṇam), ten categories of vāyu or vent (pirāṇaṉ, viyāṇaṉ, utāṇaṉ, camāṇaṉ, apāṇaṉ, nākaṉ, kūrmaṉ, kirukaraṉ, tevatataṉ, tanañceyaṉ).
Text 2: the text comprises 39 leaves numbered from 7 to 45; it is incomplete. It describes preparations of medicines, informing sometimes for which diseases the remedy is appropriate: Decoctions: Pāvu kaṣāyam, Atimatura kaṣāyam, Vālai kaṣāyam and Pātarāti kaṣāyam. Dried plant powders: Kukkuṭāti cūraṇam and Tippili cūraṇam as well as cūraṇam for treating urinary tract infection. Medicated oils: Cantaṇāti eṇṇai; Icaṅkaṇ ver tailam, Mulai pāl tailam (for treating delirium or caṉṉi), Rātcāti tailam and Vāta kōṭāli tailam. Electuaries: Pūraṇa cañcīvi lēkiyam and Ātu lēkiyam. Pills: Karuttuvāti kuḷikai, Cīṉa valāti as well as pills for treating eye diseases, gastric ulcer and ascites, Waxy medicines: Racakanti meḷuku as well as a category called kaṇtūcam. The text also presents some medicinal formulations for treating piles, epitasis, jaundice and medicines (maruntu, not specified) for treating anemia and gynecological diseases.
Size of the manuscript: 28,3cm x 3,5cm. The leaves of the part 1 are numbered from 2 to 6 in Tamil and Arabic numbers, but 2 leaves are numbered 3. Each leaf contains 8 lines. The leaves of the part 2 are numbered from 7 to 47 in Tamil and Arabic numbers. Each leaf contains 12 lines. The manuscript is in good condition; the leaf 46 is damaged.
