The manuscript is composed of a text of 125 palm leaves. The text is attributed to Akattiyar and is written both in verses and prose.
This text deals with preparation of medicines. The names of the mentioned formulas are: Vāyvu kuṭinīr; Pitta cura kacāyam; Kōḻi pōṭi; Akkiṉi cūraṇam, Aṭṭa cūraṇam and Tāḷicapattiri cūraṇam; Vāyu kuḻampu and Puḷiyilai kuḻampu; Kumara kaṇṭa tailam, Kukkilāti ney, Puliyāral ney and Viṣṇu kiranti ney; Uḷḷi āmaṇak keṇṇai and Naṉṉāri eṇṇai; Mataṉa pūraṇa vilvāti lēkiyam, Pūraṇāti lēkiyam and Nellikāy lēkiyam; Cura pūpati kuḷikai, Elāti kuḷikai, Cura elāti kuḷikai and Curaka kuḷikai; Veṭiyuppu paṟpam and Akkiṉi kumāri paṟpam; Veṭṭu māṟpaṉ māttirai and Kantaka racāyaṇam.
The text specifies some diseases which are treated by specific medicines such as Aḻiñci ney for curing jaundice (kāmālai), ney against dysentery (kirāṇi) and kapa diseases, Uḷḷi ney against colic pain (cūlai), a gruel (kañci) for reducing fever (curam), Ati viṭaiya cūraṇam for dysentery (kirāṇi), eṇṇey for treating children's indigestion (māntam), hernia (aṇṭa vātam), and for strengthening children's hip (kuḻantaikaḷuku iṭuppuku eṇṇey) a kind of atrophy in children due to rickets, topical application (pūccu) for carbuncle (piḷavai), and kacāyam for treating 18 types of kaṇai- atrophies in children due to rickets, as well as a medicinal product for clarifying the voice (kural teḷiya).
The text evokes also diverse diseases treated by medicines not specified. The concerned diseases are: pain with bleeding (iratta cūlai), appendicitis (kuṭal vātam), urinary tract infection (pitta kiricam), a kind of atrophy in children due to rickets (kaṇai), vāta diseases, tooth ache (palvali), insanity (paittiyam), poison bites (kaṭiviṣam), skin diseases (kuṭṭam), leucoderma (veṇ kuṭṭam), eczema (karapāṉ), flatulence (vāyu), gastric ulcer (kuṉmam), uterine growth (keṟpa vippuruti), poison bites (kāṇā kaṭikaḷ) and a not identified disease, kaḻal vātam.
Size of the manuscript 36,0cm x 3,0cm. The text is numbered in Tamil and Arabic from 1 to 142. The palm leaves 56 and from 95 to 113 are missing. Numerous leaves of the manuscript are partly broken.
